barrioThe weather is warming up and you know what that means... everyone in Columbus is looking for a drink and a place to drink it on. Well if you want a Happy Hour that's full of flavor with deals on food and drinks, Barrio will be your new favorite spot. Oozing with a laid-back cool, Barrio sits on the corner of Spring and High Street downtown. The amazing interior is romantic, modern and hip all at once especially in nice weather their bar area has large windows that can fully open, so it's like being outside when you're inside! Check out what we thought of their Happy Hour in our video review!

Anita's Take:

I really like this place.  It's modern, trendy, laid-back, and produces some delicious food.  The menu has Latin flare and many tapas (small plates) to choose from ranging from meats, seafood, cheese, and veggies.  We went on a Tuesday, so it was 2 for 1 Tapas and half off margaritas!  Everything was fantastic and portion wise, very sharable with another person.  We got 4 small plates and were stuffed.  Beef Medallion - super tender, very flavorful.  Marinated in Cafe Brioso's coffee beans that gave it nice aroma but nothing overpowering.  Stuffed Tomato - this vegetarian dish was super colorful and refreshing.  Seared Scallops - I have a soft spot for scallops so I had to get this.  There were only 2 pieces but they were cooked perfectly.  It was also plated with a little shrimp, chorizo (I think), and a veggie I couldn't get enough of. Bacon wrapped dates - Just get them.  It will change your life.  So overall, this is a great place if you're looking for a cool atmosphere and if you're into sharing good food.  I love having a bite of everything.

Courtney's Take:

This is one of my favorite spots so perhaps I'm bias but it's just so good! In the video I said my margarita was 1/2 off and I lied, it's 1/2 off pitchers of margs and I've had them before, well worth the price! I like Barrio because they offer a lot of seafood options, which isn't the easiest thing to find in the middle of the country. We went on Tapas Tuesday so it was buy 2 and get 1 free. We like free so of course that was a plus from our end. I recommend sharing because you'll want to try everything! And bacon-wrapped dates... just do it. This place is at the top of my list! PS: Anita is totally dressed like Freddy Krueger hehe
