Barley's Smokehouse

barleyssmokehouseRibs, potatoes, baked beans and beer. Drooling yet? We stopped by Barley's Smokehouse to check out their Happy Hour but we had a little mix up. There are two Barley's locations and we thought we were going to the location that had Happy Hour at 3pm unfortunately we were wrong on the location but thankfully our tardiness worked in our favor. This Barley's location started Happy Hour at 4pm so we read some local periodicals while we waited for about 20 minutes. We salivated over the house-brewed beers and were pretty thankful when 4pm rolled around for the beer specials. Check out how it went once the beer got delivered in the video!

Courtney's Take:

Whoa... that was one of the best meals I've ever had. Now I know we went for Happy Hour but I think this is a much better dinner place. You only get like $1 or so off of the house brews during Happy Hour so I would recommend Barley's for dinner. Or you can go at any time on Mondays and get 40 cent wings. I'm not a huge wing person.. I mean I work at Hooters so being near wings reminds me of work haha... but I decided to try these out and I loved the Kansas BBQ sauce. This place had a great vibe, we sat in the bar area and there were two pool tables on the other side of the restaurant so it seemed to have a great energy and lots to do. I would say check this place out. It has a bit of an older crowd so I guess don't try to scout out the hotties unless you like married men... don't do that.

Anita's Take:

Definitely try out their personally brewed beer there.  The Nitro Russian Imperial Stout ($3.75 during happy hour) was dark, thick, and delicious! Like a Guinness, but better.  The wings were nothing too special, but a great deal on Mondays since they're 40 cents all day.  After a lil drinky drink and wings, the half rack of ribs with sides of mash potatoes and baked beans (around $13) were enough to fill me and Courtney up.  The ribs were meaty, and the bbq sauce was sweet, tangy, and delicious.  The mash potatoes were redskin, which were also very delicious but if you're health conscious like me, they put melted butter on top.  The baked beans were mega delicious!  It had beef brisket in it, and was nice and thick.  Not like your canned beans that's all saucy and runny.  Random side note... they do have a parking lot!  yay!
